IL CONFINE - (The boundary)
Il Confine (The boundary) is a work that aims to give, from the perspective of the individual, a visual and conceptual interpretation to the question, "What does the boundary represent for the human being, what does the boundary represent for me?"
Thus the limit takes shape between transparencies, light and connections.
The individual, his thoughts, his being present and alive is represented by the light, placed at the top, inside a first layer, a shell, the flesh, a shell of fibers, the copper tubes. From this branch off many transparent, Plexiglas threads that convey light from the heart of the work to a second stage, the actual boundary, composed of 127 nylon and metal elements that weave into an orderly, yet at the same time chaotic structure, made up of many connections and as many empty spaces. Each of the elements that make up the boundary encloses at its center the final part of each termination that conveys the light produced by the self, to the outside world, setting it in a precise pattern.
Here, then, the boundary between the inner and outer worlds is represented here as a membrane, a physical boundary, but at the same time a permeable boundary, made up of contact and gaps, precisely to emphasize the natural and continuous connection between the inside and the outside of each of us.
An imaginary boundary, a physical boundary, which is crossed by information, feelings, sensations-a cascade that explodes into multiple points of view, separated by spaces through which the structure of this whole representation can be visualized.
Our unique inner being is then, through various situations, shown toward the outer world, and the perception we can grasp from the outside is a small and partial representation of what it is in its totality. The multiplicity of situations certainly gives us a broader view of what is within but the totality will still prove impossible to see.
All this complexity, however, represents the wonder of the human being, composed of individuality, relationships, reason and feeling.
