BIO
Giovanni Valiante was born in Maratea on March 25, 1993, in a small coastal town with a strong vocation for tourism.
He grew up in a large family and developed from an early age a passion for mathematics, philosophy, art, and beautiful things. Drawn to logic and rational thinking, he focused his studies on scientific subjects while privately nurturing his love for painting, poetry, and other forms of personal expression.
He later moved to Milan to pursue a degree in engineering and to explore new opportunities beyond his hometown.
After completing his studies, he began a career in multinational companies connected to his academic background, primarily in the business sector. Although he achieved strong results, he soon realised that this path did not fulfil him and continued to seek a different direction. His ongoing search for meaning and self-expression gradually led him closer to the world of art, which he has always regarded as a space for truth, introspection, and the possibility of existing beyond oneself.
In 2023, after a second unsatisfying corporate experience, he decided to abandon that career path and devote himself to design and the pursuit of beauty, moving toward a craft-based reality where he could better express his creativity, while maintaining his enduring goal of creating works that offer new perspectives to those who encounter them.
ART INTENT
“ My artistic work explores the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, between what exists in the material world and what lives within thought. I see art as a way to translate inner motion into form, to give presence to something that otherwise would remain silent.
Through light, space, and matter, I seek to reveal fragments of a personal truth, a reflection on existence, perception, and human connection. Each work becomes a threshold, an invitation to look beyond what is apparent and to sense the dialogue between ourselves and the world that surrounds us. "
DESIGN INTENT
“ My work seeks to create harmony between form, material, and function, where each element contributes to a sense of balance and meaning, this is what makes an object truly unique. Design, for me, is not only about solving problems but about revealing connections between thought, emotion, and space.
Every object I create is the result of research into proportion, light, and texture. It is a dialogue between precision and intuition, between logic and beauty. Through design, I aim to shape experiences that feel timeless; pieces that exist not only to be used, but also to be felt and understood. Each piece finds its equilibrium with the space and the person who inhabits it. ”
